eBook Writing: How to Pick Your Niche

All too often many people struggle with trying to pick a niche when they decide to write an eBook. The best rule is to write on a niche you are familiar with, as this will be much easier for you to write a well detailed and informative eBook.

The reason people purchase eBooks is to get informative and detailed information quickly directly from their computer.

Your job as a writer is to provide that for them. When deciding on a niche it is best to choose something you can write about and keep the reader entertained. It should also be interesting to you, such as having experience in that area from a job or a hobby.

If you don't know which niches are available a great place to start is searching on ClickBank. ClickBank is the largest online market place for digital media. You are certain to find something there that will work for you.

Once you find a niche you are interested in you will have to do some research to see if it is profitable. Nobody wants to spend a lot of time writing an eBook to find out there isn't a market for it.

The best way to check is to use Google AdWords tool to search for highly profitable key words. This tool will let you know how much competition and demand there is for your niche.

Always remember It is good to pick niches which you are personally interested in because:

- it will be easier for you to create good content - you will understand the topic from a buyer's point of view

For example if the niche you are interested in is pest control you could search on that keyword and see how much competition you will have. You will see how many monthly searches there are for that specific keyword as well as other related keywords.

It is very important that you do a good keyword search, because if you don't your profits will be very low and you may even lose money and nobody wants to do that.

The last eBook I wrote was on repairing 2 stroke motorcross engines. There were books on engine repair, so I knew If I wrote a well detailed informative book it would sell providing I do proper key word research and have detailed information.

There are many niches out there. I'm sure if you do your proper research you will have success.
